Job Creation
High-quality jobs that pay a living wage are vital to Oklahoma’s future. As a leader in the energy industry, Oklahoma is well-suited to move into additional forms of energy production including wind, solar, and bio-fuels. We also must continue to build on the progress that we have made in tourism and medical research, as well as reclaiming a strong manufacturing economy.
Education
A first-class education system is an absolute necessity. We must pay competitive salaries and continue to refine our teacher training and recruitment programs in order to have the highest quality professional educators available. In addition, improving access to early identification and intervention for learning differences will enable our schools to address potential problems for students earlier, increasing their chances for success in school.
Health Care
We need to ensure that we have adequate health care for all Oklahomans, particularly children and senior citizens and we should make access to prenatal care a priority. Providing high levels of preventative care and early intervention is a more cost-effective way of spending our health care dollars.
Government that Works for You
Partisan wrangling and political gamesmanship have become the order of the day at our state Capitol. Our legislators seem to be more interested in winning the next election than in working to find real solutions to the real problems facing Oklahomans. Special interests and lobbyists control the agenda, leaving too many of us essentially unrepresented at the capitol. You deserve a state government that works and a legislator that works for you! |
